Performing combat missions in Luhansk region. Let's remember Volodymyr Matskiy.

Every day at 9 AM, Ukrainians honor the memory of all those whose lives were taken by the Russian-Ukrainian war. Today we remember Volodymyr Matskiy.

On the front, on January 11, 2025, the defender Volodymyr Matskiy was killed. This was reported by the Lviv City Council. 

Volodymyr Matskiy was born on November 16, 1970, in Lviv. He studied at Lyceum No. 66 of the Lviv City Council. He received vocational education in Lviv. After completing his studies, he served in the tank troops.

Throughout his life, he changed several spheres of activity. According to relatives, Volodymyr Matskiy was 'an extremely cheerful person and a wonderful friend', the best dad in the world, a loving husband, and son.

The beginning of the war and service at the front

After the start of the full-scale invasion of the Russian Federation, he stood up to defend his homeland from Russian invaders as part of the Third Separate Assault Brigade of the Ground Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He performed combat missions in the Luhansk region. 

The life of the defender was cut short on January 11, 2025. The funeral of the serviceman took place on January 16 at the Garrison Church of Saints Peter and Paul. After the city-wide farewell ceremony at Rynok Square, Volodymyr Matskiy was buried at Lychakiv Cemetery.

He is survived by his wife, son, and father.
