On the passenger plane Azal, which crashed on December 25, traces of air defense missile elements were found. There are holes in the tail section of the plane that resemble impacts from a missile. This was reported by Russian media.

The incident occurred at a Time when Russian air defense was operating in Grozny, possibly to protect against drone attacks.

This fact has strengthened suspicions regarding the shooting down of the plane by Russian air defense systems.

According to one of the surviving passengers, the pilots attempted to land the plane in Grozny three times.

“The third time something exploded. It was not an explosion inside the plane. The skin tore off next to where I was sitting,” the passenger's words are quoted by a Russian blogger.

There is also information about the plane colliding with birds and losing control. However, traces on the plane indicate that it was shot down while flying to Grozny, likely mistaking it for a Ukrainian drone attacking the city. The plane was carrying 69 people, of whom 28 survived the crash.

Russian military correspondents suspect

Russian war correspondents acknowledge that the plane may have been shot down by Russian air defense, just like the MH17 Boeing in 2014.

Recall that the Embraer plane fell at Aktau airport during a flight from Baku to Grozny. There were 67 passengers and 5 crew members on board, including citizens of Azerbaijan, Russia, Kazakhstan, and Kyrgyzstan.

The preliminary cause of the plane crash was a bird strike, but there are suspicions that the plane may have been shot down by Russian air defense systems. It is also reported that an oxygen tank exploded on board and people began to lose consciousness.
