Financial Aid Now Available for Ukrainians Displaced Abroad: How to Apply.
Cash Compensation for Ukrainians Who Have Fled Abroad
According to Novyny.live: Ukrainians who were forced to leave the country from February 24, 2022, onward and cannot return home are now eligible for monetary compensation. This financial assistance program, funded by the Norwegian Refugee Council, offers a one-time payment to those who fled abroad due to the armed aggression of the Russian Federation. This initiative is part of broader international efforts to support civilians affected by the ongoing war.
Applications for payments can be submitted through the Diia portal. Ukrainian citizens aged 18 and over are eligible to apply. The program registration period runs until February 25, 2026, providing a significant window for many to access this crucial financial support. Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) can receive between 5,000 and 15,000 hryvnias in aid once per year.
Who is Eligible for Compensation?
All Ukrainian citizens who left the country from February 24, 2022, and are at least 18 years old can apply for these payments. It is important to note that for Ukrainians currently in Poland, an application for a PESEL UKR number must be submitted within 30 days of entry. This program provides vital support for those facing difficult circumstances due to the conflict, helping cover costs for housing, medical services, and other essential needs.
The implementation of this program demonstrates the efforts of the international community and Ukrainian authorities to support citizens affected by the war.
Given the protracted nature of the conflict and the large number of displaced persons, this financial aid can significantly alleviate their situation by ensuring basic needs are met and aiding integration into new environments. The program is also expected to draw further attention to the challenges refugees face and create additional opportunities for their future support.
