Zelensky named the candidate for the position of Minister of Justice: who is it.
According to ТСН: The candidacy for the post of Minister of Justice has already been determined.
President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky announced this in his evening address.
According to the head of state, a leader of the Ministry of Energy also needs to be chosen.
“There is already a candidate for the Minister of Justice. A clear vision regarding the head of the Ministry of Energy of Ukraine is also needed; a strong person is required — he asked lawmakers together with the Prime Minister to determine a list of candidates,” said Zelensky.
What preceded this
Recall that the Verkhovna Rada voted for the dismissal of the Minister of Justice Herman Halushchenko, who is a figure in the 'Midas' case.
In addition, 315 deputies supported the dismissal of the Minister of Energy Svitlana Hrynchuk, who is also involved in the NABU and SAP investigation.
Halushchenko headed the Ministry of Justice on July 17, 2025, and since April 2021 he has been the Minister of Energy. It was during his tenure in this position that he became a figure in the corruption case in the field of building protective structures in defense and energy.
On November 12, the Cabinet of Ministers suspended Halushchenko from performing the duties of the Minister of Justice. The politician, commenting on the government's decision, noted that he “fully agrees” with the decision, claiming that he “is not clinging to the position.”
In turn, Minister of Energy Svitlana Hrynchuk submitted her resignation. She added that during her work there were no violations of the law and confirmed that such “facts cannot exist in principle.”
Halushchenko was also excluded from the National Security and Defense Council. On the same day, the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Legal Policy supported the resignation of the Minister of Justice and decided to submit the relevant issue to the Parliament for consideration.
These government changes occur against the backdrop of growing public demands for transparency and the effectiveness of managerial decisions. It is important that new candidates have the necessary experience and ability to implement reforms in critically important areas. Observers note that the update of the leadership in the Ministry of Justice and the Ministry of Energy can significantly affect future steps in public administration.
