Public Transport Changes in Odesa

According to Novyny.live: Starting June 8, Odesa is restructuring its public transport network. Two existing bus routes will be eliminated, while new social buses offering free rides will be launched. The goal is to improve transit services for city residents.

Which Routes Are Being Cut?

Route No. 110, which ran between the 'Kuyalnik' sanatorium and the railway station, will cease operations on June 8. Additionally, Route No. 288, connecting the children's daycare center with the Western Cemetery, will be discontinued.

How Will the New Routes Work?

To replace the canceled buses, a new social bus line S10 will begin service between the railway station and the Pirogov Clinical Sanatorium. Another social route, S6, will link the 'Merkuriy' shopping center with the Western Cemetery. The S6 will operate daily, departing from 'Merkuriy' at 8:00 AM and 10:40 AM.

What Are the Fares in Odesa This June?

June fare rates are as follows:

  • 15 UAH per trip on trams or trolleybuses,
  • 20 UAH for city minibuses,
  • Social buses will transport passengers free of charge.

It is worth noting that since April 10, intra-regional passenger fares in Odesa Oblast have increased by 30%. For example, the trip from Chornomorsk to Odesa rose from 50 to 65 UAH, while a journey from Reni to Odesa now costs 780 UAH—180 UAH more than before.

These public transport changes aim to enhance access to social routes and reduce travel costs for certain passenger groups.

The adjustments to Odesa's public transport system could significantly improve mobility, especially for socially vulnerable populations who can now use free routes. Amid rising intercity fares, these new social lines represent an important step toward supporting city residents.
