According to inkorr.com: The former head of 'Ukrenergo' Volodymyr Kudrytsky has been set bail in the amount of 13.7 million hryvnias. He is accused of fraud on a particularly large scale, as reported by RBK-Ukraine.
"A bail of 13.7 million hryvnias was posted for Kudrytsky," the publication states, citing its own source.
In response to a question about the reliability of this information, the communications advisor to the director of the State Bureau of Investigations, Tetiana Sapyian, confirmed this data during a TV broadcast.
"As far as I know, a bail was indeed posted for the former head of Ukrenergo," she said.
Regarding other details of the case, Sapyian did not provide additional information.
Charges of fraud
In October, the State Bureau of Investigations announced the detention of Volodymyr Kudrytsky on suspicion of fraud (part 4 of Article 190 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine). According to the version of the SBI, in 2018, the Lviv businessman Igor Hrynkevych attempted to seize funds from the state enterprise 'Ukrenergo'.
A balance of 13.7 million hryvnias was posted as bail in this case. Other details remain unknown for now, but it is known that Hrynkevych attempted to carry out a scam related to the embezzlement of money from 'Ukrenergo'.
In light of this scandal, it is worth noting that cases related to fraud in the public sector attract particular public attention. The transparency of investigations and their effectiveness can significantly affect public trust in government institutions. The prospect of further investigations and court proceedings may shed even more light on the situation in Ukrainian state companies.Read also
