According to inkorr.com: Every day at 9 AM, Ukrainians honor the memory of those killed in the Russo-Ukrainian War. This time we remember Ihor Yakymchuk.

Soldier Ihor Yakymchuk was taken from life on May 31, 2024, when he was only 40 years old, while carrying out a combat mission in the Donetsk region. This information was published by the Rivne City Council, citing 'Glavkom'.

Ihor was born on December 19, 1983, in the village of Ostrozhany, Cherkasy region. He received higher education at Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv and at the Yaroslav Mudry Law Academy.

After completing his military service, Ihor worked as a judge's assistant and engaged in entrepreneurship. He was also actively involved in city life, playing for the football team 'Radon'.

The Yakymchuk family waited for his return for over 17 months, but unfortunately, their hopes were not realized. News of Ihor's death became known through DNA matching when his body was returned home.

The farewell to the military took place at Independence Square in Rivne, and the burial was in the town of Korets.

'Glavkom' joins the moment of silence, honoring all who died in the Russo-Ukrainian War. We remember the heroes who gave their lives for Ukraine's freedom and preserve the memory of their great contribution.

This tragic event once again reminds us of the prices Ukrainians pay for freedom and independence. The war continues, but the memory of Ihor Yakymchuk and thousands of other heroes will remain in the hearts of Ukrainians. By honoring the fallen, we support the mission for which they fought. Only together, with the memory of those who laid down their lives, can we continue the struggle for peace and justice in Ukraine.
