Mykolaiv Launches Building Material Production from Debris: How Waste is Turned into Resource.
In Mykolaiv, plans are underway to launch the production of building materials from waste generated as a result of enemy attacks. The new plant will use construction debris to manufacture concrete blocks, pressed bricks, and elements of drainage systems.
Support and Partnership
Mykolaiv Mayor Oleksandr Senkevych stated that in collaboration with partners, they plan to implement this project with the support of the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA). The new plant has been successfully operating for two months and is helping to clean the city of construction waste.
'This is an example of circular economy in action: instead of landfills — reuse, instead of waste — resource,' he emphasized.
It should be noted that Mykolaiv recently suffered a rocket attack, so the implementation of this project is crucial for the restoration of the city's infrastructure after the conflict.
By utilizing construction waste to produce materials, Mykolaiv is taking a step towards a more sustainable and environmentally friendly future infrastructure.Read also
