Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant on the brink of catastrophe: Zelensky warned about the threat due to shelling.
According to inkorr.com: The situation at the Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant is critical due to shelling by Russian troops. The facility has been operating without external power for the seventh day, relying solely on diesel generators, which poses a serious threat to nuclear safety. One of the generators has already failed.
'This is extraordinary. The generators and the plant were not designed for such a load and cannot operate in this mode for so long,' noted the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky, in his address on September 30.
According to the head of state, Russian troops are deliberately obstructing repair work at the nuclear power plant to restore electricity supply. 'Russia is doing what no terrorist in the world would dare to do with a nuclear power plant,' emphasized Zelensky. At his order, the Ministry of Energy and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs have engaged the international community in this situation.
Russian troops continue attacks in eastern regions of Ukraine
On September 30, Russian troops continued mass attacks in the eastern regions of Ukraine. The city of Dnipro was hit by drone strikes in the city center, with casualties reported. Kharkiv, Dnipropetrovsk, Sumy, and Chernihiv regions were also under threat throughout the day. In the Chernihiv region, Russian troops struck a substation.
A tragedy occurred in the Sumy region, where a Russian drone killed an entire family: a man, a pregnant woman, and two children aged four and seven. 'We will definitely respond to Russia for their attacks,' said the President, expressing condolences to the relatives and friends of the victims.
The events in Ukraine indicate that the nuclear power plant in Zaporizhzhia is under threat due to Russian shelling. The continuation of mass attacks on the eastern regions leads to new casualties and danger for local residents. State authorities are taking measures to draw the international community's attention to these alarming events and seek punishment for those responsible for aggression.
