The suspect in the murder of Parubiy, Stselnikov, is ready for a prisoner exchange.
Readiness for the exchange of prisoners of war
According to inkorr.com: Mikhail Stselnikov, who is suspected of murdering MP Andriy Parubiy, has expressed his opinion on a possible exchange of prisoners of war between Ukraine and Russia. This information was published by 'Glavkom' in the article 'The Fake Drama of Parubiy's Killer'.
Ukraine has already conducted exchanges of its citizens for Russians. For example, in September 2022, an exchange took place during which MP and Putin's godfather Viktor Medvedchuk was returned in exchange for 200 defenders of 'Azovstal' who were captured.
There have also been exchanges of citizens under the project 'I want to return to my own'. In May 2025, Ukraine exchanged 70 convicted collaborators for the release of civilians and military personnel. In addition, at the beginning of April this year, about 300 Ukrainians who were convicted of treason and other crimes expressed a desire to go to Russia.
In custody and requalification of charges
"Considering the collected evidence, the legal qualification of the criminal offense has been changed to part 1 of article 263 (illegal handling of weapons) and article 112 (encroachment on the life of a people's deputy of Ukraine committed in connection with his state or public activity) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine," it is reported.
Under these articles, the offender may face imprisonment for a term of 10 to 15 years or life imprisonment.
Thus, the process of exchanging prisoners of war and convicted persons between Ukraine and Russia continues. There is interest from both sides in such exchanges, including individuals suspected of serious crimes. However, after the change in legal qualification, Mikhail Stselnikov may face serious consequences, leading to long-term imprisonment.
