The USA and NATO Launch PURL: How a New Mechanism Will Accelerate Arms Deliveries to Ukraine
The United States of America and NATO are launching a new mechanism to support Ukraine regarding arms deliveries. The Prioritized Ukraine Requirements List (PURL) initiative will shorten delivery times for the necessary weapons for the Ukrainian armed forces.
Ukrainian Defense Minister Denis Schmyhal informed about this on his Telegram channel.

The main goal of this mechanism is to strengthen Ukraine's positions on the battlefield and create conditions for a just and lasting peace. This initiative will be implemented under the agreements between the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy, the President of the USA Donald Trump, and NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte.

NATO members and partners have the opportunity to finance the delivery of American weapons and technologies through voluntary contributions. The PURL mechanism provides for the creation of a list of required equipment and ammunition based on Ukraine's requests and approved by the Supreme Commander of NATO troops in Europe (SACEUR). New aid packages will be announced regularly. NATO will coordinate the deliveries under this mechanism, including using existing NATO mechanisms (NATO Security Assistance and Training to Ukraine - NSATU).

The Netherlands has already taken on the funding of the first aid package amounting to 500 million euros. Weapons deliveries are expected to occur in the near future. Additionally, important new announcements regarding this initiative are anticipated.

It was previously reported that in Donald Trump's administration, there was a desire for complete peace in Ukraine. The White House intends to continue supporting Kyiv in its efforts to end the war. Furthermore, it was informed that, according to the US Ambassador to NATO Matthew Whitaker, Donald Trump will already order strict sanctions and tariffs against Russia on August 8. Friends and trading partners of the Russians will not be left untouched.

The new mechanism to assist Ukraine in the delivery of weapons, the Prioritized Ukraine Requirements List (PURL), is starting its operations. This initiative, carried out with the involvement of the USA and NATO, aims to strengthen Ukraine's defense capabilities and create conditions to achieve peace in the region. Its implementation is carried out through the formation of lists of necessary weapons and ammunition, which are financed by NATO member countries and partners. The first aid package amounting to 500 million euros is already being funded by the Netherlands, which demonstrates a serious approach to supporting Ukraine by international partners. We hope for the successful implementation of this initiative and further strengthening of the country's defense capabilities.
