Zelensky: This war can be justly ended only from strong positions.
President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky announced a successful prisoner exchange and the holding of important international meetings. According to the head of state, 49 Ukrainians, including military and civilian personnel, were released from Russian captivity. Among the released were defenders of 'Azovstal', border guards, national guardsmen, and police officers. Since the beginning of the invasion, Ukraine has managed to liberate 3569 people from captivity.
The President thanked the Armed Forces, GUR, SBU, and other structures that participated in the prisoner exchange. He also spoke about his participation in the Yalta European Strategy Forum, where important meetings were held with the foreign ministers of Lithuania and Poland, the head of the Munich Security Conference, former US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo, and former UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson. A separate meeting with the Minister of Defense of Denmark was also noted, during which joint weapons production and the supply of F-16 fighters were discussed.
The President emphasized the importance of providing the Ukrainian army with weapons, particularly on the Donetsk direction. He stressed that the war can only be ended from strong positions.
