Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy’s Key Statements

According to Novyny.live: According to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, the only entity capable of compelling Russian President Vladimir Putin to pursue peace is Moscow itself—not the issue of Crimea. Zelenskyy emphasized that Putin is desperate to project a victory, yet his actions have yielded no genuine achievements. These remarks came in response to the ongoing war between Ukraine and Russia, which continues to shape geopolitical tensions across Europe.

Zelenskyy dismissed Putin’s narratives about Crimea as outright lies.

“Only Moscow Island can force him. All his talk about knowing Crimea, loving it, needing it—that’s a lie,”
the Ukrainian leader stated. He further noted that Putin needs to 'sell a great victory to his own society.' However, Zelenskyy added,
“There is no victory. There will be no victory.”

Escalation of the Conflict

On the night of July 2, Kyiv was hit by a combined Russian assault involving over 500 drones and 70 missiles. This attack highlights the intensifying nature of the conflict and the growing military threats to Ukrainian security.

Zelenskyy’s comments underscore the deep political rift between Ukraine and Russia, as well as the stalled progress in peace negotiations. His remarks on Crimea reflect Kyiv’s view that the peninsula is central to Ukraine’s national identity and territorial integrity. Meanwhile, the surge in military strikes on Ukrainian cities signals that the war is escalating, posing further risks to regional stability.
