Zelensky named the red lines for peace negotiations: territory and the Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant.
According to ТСН: Ukraine will not make a decision that involves legally recognizing the Russian occupation of its territories or control over the Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant. Meanwhile, Kyiv is actively working to reduce contentious issues on the path to a possible framework agreement.
Volodymyr Zelensky on red lines
The President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky, emphasized the clear 'red lines' that are not subject to discussion. This specifically concerns territories and the Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant.
'All these issues—they are very sensitive, it involves both territories and the Zaporizhzhia NPP. You know my stance that legally we will not recognize anything under any conditions. I just do not want to go into the details of these issues now, which we have already discussed many times with you,' the president noted.
Involving society in decision-making
The head of state also emphasized that any sensitive decisions can only be made after broad consultations with society—through discussions, referendums, or changes in legislation. He stressed that Ukrainians must participate in making decisions that affect the future of the country.
Security guarantees
According to Zelensky, security guarantees remain the main factor. The president highlighted that the massive attack from Russia on the eve is yet another evidence that the Russian Federation is not ready to end the war.
In conclusion, Zelensky emphasized that security issues are key in the context of holding presidential elections or a referendum in Ukraine regarding sensitive elements of the peace plan.
In the conditions of armed conflict and international tension, Ukraine's position remains unchanged—they are not inclined to compromises that could threaten national security. Discussions about possible peace initiatives will continue, however, active public participation in discussing important decisions remains on the agenda.
