Zelensky announced the conditions for peace in 2025.
The President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky noted that the most important desire of Ukrainians is a quick end to the war through a just peace. He expressed his position during a joint briefing with German Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock. Zelensky emphasized that Ukraine has always spoken about its readiness for an unconditional ceasefire, which was demonstrated in negotiations in Saudi Arabia. The president also noted that the Russian side is not striving to end the war, as evidenced by the Russian delegates during the negotiations. He hopes that the United States will intensify sanctions pressure on Russia if it does not fulfill its promises. Zelensky also stressed that to achieve a just peace, each party must fulfill its obligations and pressure Russia to adhere to its commitments. Zelensky also discussed with the German foreign minister the issues of supporting Ukraine and Russia's violations of agreements.
Representatives of the United States believe that a ceasefire in Ukraine is unlikely to be achieved in the near future, and new mechanisms for pressure on both sides of the conflict are being developed.
