Zelensky appointed Markarova as advisor for reconstruction: new responsibilities

According to ТСН: The President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky, appointed Oksana Markarova, the former ambassador of Ukraine to the USA, as his advisor.

He shared this news on Telegram.

"Starting today, Oksana Markarova will continue to help our country as my advisor on the issues of reconstruction of Ukraine and investments. We will definitely protect our independence and Ukraine's right to be a sovereign European state. We are providing Ukraine with the capability to defend itself and have been resisting full-scale Russian aggression on a daily basis for almost 4 years. Despite all the difficulties, we are providing Ukraine with the necessary weapons, air defense systems, and sufficient resources for internal resilience," he noted.

"I am glad that Oksana remains in the team of our state, and her tasks will now include consultations on issues that strengthen Ukraine, namely – improving the business climate, strengthening the financial resilience of our state, attracting investments, and planning reconstruction together with our strategic partners," the president added.

Let us remind that in the summer, Zelensky informed Markarova of his intention to dismiss her. Olga Stefanishina was appointed in her place.

The return of Oksana Markarova to public service as an advisor emphasizes the importance of involving experts in the reconstruction of the country after the war. Her experience as a diplomat and knowledge of the international business environment can be crucial for improving the investment climate in Ukraine.
