Peace Talks Postponed

According to TSN.ua: Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has stated that the United States initiated a postponement of planned peace talks, which were initially scheduled for Tuesday or Wednesday in Turkey. The American side proposed holding the meeting next week instead.

Zelenskyy: 'We were prepared to travel to Turkey, but it was the American side that postponed this meeting.'

Presidential Phone Call

Separately, President Zelenskyy commented on a phone call between U.S. President Donald Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin that took place on March 9 and lasted approximately one hour. The discussion covered the war in Ukraine and the broader international situation.

Zelenskyy: 'Regarding the conversation between Donald Trump and Putin—I know almost nothing about it.'

He added: 'I know a few details from intelligence, but I won't speak about that for now.'

In the context of this call, Trump characterized it as positive and constructive. His advisor, Pete Hegseth, noted the conversation was decisive and addressed potential avenues for achieving peace between Russia and Ukraine. Within Ukraine, support remains for ceasefire initiatives, a critical component of any peace negotiations.

These developments—the rescheduling of talks and the high-level call between U.S. and Russian leaders—represent significant moments in ongoing discussions about achieving peace in Ukraine. They also underscore the active role the United States continues to play in shaping the international agenda concerning the conflict. The outcome of the rescheduled talks could substantially influence the conflict's trajectory and prospects for regional stability, as diplomatic efforts intensify.
