Zelensky on the War: Europe Guarantees Financing for Ukraine for 2-3 Years.
According to inkorr.com: The President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky commented on the words of the Prime Minister of Poland regarding the potential duration of the war in Ukraine for another two to three years. He emphasized that stable financial support from international partners is critically important, and also pointed out the possibility of using frozen Russian assets for armaments and the country's recovery.
“This is actually regarding frozen assets. Now, when someone says that Ukraine is still ready to fight for a few more years, I once again emphasized this to all European leaders. I told them – we will not fight for decades, but you need to show that for some time you can provide stable financial support to Ukraine. Therefore, they have such a program in mind – 2-3 years. Let's accept that for 2-3 years we will steadily help Ukraine financially,” the president said.
Zelensky noted that financing for 2-3 years would allow the military to receive salaries and provide resources for the purchase of weapons or recovery, depending on the situation at the front.
Europe's Signal to Russia
The president stressed that the signal from Europe of continuous financial support for Ukraine is important for pressuring Russia. He noted that Russia's refusal to end the war will not have financial consequences for it, which is a significant point.
“But for Putin, the scariest thing about the 'Russian' assets is that Europe has given the signal – there is no sense for Putin to continue exhausting Ukraine. Because there will be no financial exhaustion. And this needs to be understood. It is not about whether someone is ready to fight, but whether someone is not ready.”
Zelensky also emphasized the importance of a clear signal to Russia that European partners will provide financial support to Ukraine regardless of any circumstances and will always stand by the independence of our country.
Volodymyr Zelensky stressed the need for stable financial support from partners for the next 2-3 years to ensure resources for the military and the country’s recovery. According to him, the signal from Europe about financing Ukraine will impact the regional situation, indicating that a refusal to go to war will not lead to financial exhaustion for Russia. This is an important step for ensuring security and stability in Ukraine and throughout the region.
