Zelensky commented on another Russian shelling of Kherson: 6 dead, 6 wounded.
Russian troops attacked Kherson: six civilians killed
On October 1, 2024, Russian troops conducted an artillery shelling of the center of Kherson, hitting a public transport stop near the central market. According to the Prosecutor General's Office as of 11:00, six civilians were killed as a result of the attack. The seventh victim, who was initially thought to be dead, was stabilized by doctors, but his condition remains extremely critical.
President Volodymyr Zelensky, in his message on social networks, expressed condolences to the families of the victims and called for increased pressure on the aggressor.
"Daily Russian terror, daily attempts to destroy life – all this can be stopped. We must certainly achieve a reliable peace for our state and people,"- emphasized the head of state.
According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the Russians attacked the city at about 9 a.m., just as all of Ukraine was observing a minute of silence in memory of the fallen defenders. The Ministry called this act "another proof of the villainy and baseness of our enemy."
Six civilians injured in the attack
In addition to the dead, it is reported that six civilians were injured to varying degrees. Five of them were hospitalized. Essential services continue to work at the scene of the tragedy.
President Zelensky thanked all partners who help Ukraine protect lives and called for continuous and comprehensive support for Ukraine in confronting Russian aggression.
