Zelensky commented on the situation in the Kursk region and near Pokrovsk.
The Ukrainian military operation in the Kursk region has achieved its goal - Zelensky
The President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky, reported that the Ukrainian military has achieved the main objective of the operation in the Kursk region of Russia - they have drawn a significant part of Russian troops away from Pokrovsk, Kharkiv, and Sumy directions. He stated this during a meeting with journalists.
'Our guys are absolutely heroic; they took a heavy blow. The first pressure eased in the Kharkiv direction - the Russians drew the maximum number of troops to the Kursk region. Then they began to withdraw forces from the East, but did not abandon their main goal - Pokrovsk,' Zelensky noted.
According to the president, due to the actions of the Ukrainian defenders, the situation in the Pokrovsk and Kharkiv directions has stabilized. He also emphasized that it will be 'very difficult' for the enemy to find a way to threaten Pokrovsk again.
'I can only thank our warriors for the Kursk operation. I believe it has fulfilled its task,' Zelensky concluded.
Earlier, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine commented on Trump's words about the encirclement of Ukrainian troops in the Kursk region.
