Zelensky on changes in defense documents: what to update in the army.
Changes in Ukraine's Defense Plan
According to ТСН: President Volodymyr Zelensky emphasized that it is time to make changes to the key documents regarding the country's defense, especially the defense plan.
This information was announced after a meeting with Defense Minister Denys Shmyhal.
“The course of hostilities has demonstrated what should become the updated priorities. We agreed that Denys Shmyhal would prepare detailed proposals for changes and present them to the Cabinet of Ministers for approval,” the president emphasized.
Zelensky also noted that Shmyhal reported on a trip to Mykolaiv and Kherson regions, as well as on protective measures.
He stressed that the government and the Ministry of Defense fully ensure adequate funding for the purchase of drones for combat brigades. The previous day, another monthly tranche of a subsidy for combat brigades amounting to 4.3 billion UAH was allocated. Additionally, 8 billion UAH was allocated for drone line financing, Zelensky noted.
The president also emphasized the important changes ahead. Among the planned steps are checks in ministries and law enforcement agencies, personnel changes in the President's Office, and preparations for potential negotiations with the USA.
Changes in the defense plan indicate the need to adapt strategies to new challenges in hostilities. Increased funding for the purchase of drones and proposals for personnel changes in high authorities indicate the determination of the Ukrainian government to ensure the country's defense capability. These steps may have a significant impact on the further course of the conflict and cooperation with international partners.
