Zelensky: Ukraine accepted the American proposal for a ceasefire

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky reported that during a meeting of the Ukrainian delegation with representatives of the United States in Saudi Arabia, constructive results were achieved. Ukraine agreed to the American proposal for a ceasefire not only in the air and at sea but also on land.

In his message on social media on March 13, 2025, Zelensky noted: 'Our representatives conveyed to the American side the principled Ukrainian positions. Ukraine is open to silence in the air and at sea, but also accepts the proposal for silence on land put forward by the American side.'

One important aspect of the agreements made is the monitoring of compliance with the silence regime. 'Control is a key issue, and we are grateful to the American side for their willingness to organize technical monitoring,' he emphasized.

Zelensky also reported the resumption of defensive assistance and intelligence assistance from the United States. Furthermore, the issue of ensuring security and cooperation with European partners was discussed.

The Ukrainian side hopes that pressure from the United States will be sufficient to force Russia to end the war. 'Our team is ready to continue constructive cooperation with all partners in America, Europe, and other parts of the world who seek to help bring peace closer,' Zelensky added.

The Head of the President's Office confirmed Ukraine's position and expressed concern about Russia's silence

The Head of the President's Office Andriy Ermak also commented on the results of the meeting, confirming Ukraine's position on readiness for constructive work to achieve peace, and expressed concern about Russia's silence regarding the ceasefire proposals.

Zelensky also expressed his gratitude to Saudi Arabia and personally to the crown prince for organizing a platform for the delegations to work.
