Zelensky discussed regional security and will appoint a new head of the State Border Guard Service.
According to ТСН: The President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky, met with the Minister of Internal Affairs, Ihor Klymenko, to discuss security issues in the regions and the aftermath of Russian attacks.
A statement on the official Telegram noted:
“The meeting with the Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine, Ihor Klymenko. First of all, the Minister reported on the current security situation in the regions and the aftermath of Russian strikes.”
The President thanked the State Emergency Service of Ukraine for their coordinated work and the border guards who, together with other elements of the Defense Forces, are successfully fulfilling their tasks.
Discussion on infrastructure and appointments
At the meeting, the Minister of Internal Affairs presented the operational situation and measures for restoring the damaged infrastructure. They also discussed the further development of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine.
The President and the Minister defined candidates for the position of the new head of the State Border Guard Service. As Zelensky reported, the appointment will take place soon:
“Together with Ihor Klymenko, we have identified candidates for the new head of the State Border Guard Service. The appointment will take place soon. Glory to Ukraine!”
We remind you that it was previously reported that Serhii Deyneko was appointed advisor to the Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine, but he is leaving military service and moving to another position in the structure of the Ministry.
The meeting indicates the active work of Ukrainian officials in restoring security in the country, especially amid ongoing threats. The appointment of a new head of the State Border Guard Service, which has been announced for the near future, indicates the intentions to strengthen control and the effectiveness of the border service in a challenging security situation.
