On September 25, 2024, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky addressed the general debate of the 79th session of the United Nations General Assembly in New York. In his speech, the Ukrainian leader focused on the need for a just peace and criticized Russian aggression.

"There can be no just peace without Ukraine," Zelensky emphasized, addressing world leaders.

He highlighted the absurdity of Russia's territorial claims: "Any world leader of any country understands that Russia, which is 20 times larger territorially than Ukraine, still wants more land for itself, and this is madness".

The President of Ukraine stated that his proposed "peace formula" has received wide support: "Nearly 100 nations and international organizations have supported the peace formula. Both North America, Africa, and Asia - they have all united in the peace formula". Zelensky particularly noted the support of countries "that have themselves gone through wars".

Zelensky criticized the inefficacy of the UN in addressing war issues: "Unfortunately, at the UN, it is impossible during such meetings to just solve the problem of war. Unfortunately, a lot depends on the power of veto that exists in the Security Council".

The Ukrainian leader also drew attention to the role of other countries in the conflict. He named Iran and North Korea as accomplices in Russia's military aggression against Ukraine, noting that both countries supplied weapons to Russia.

Zelensky warned against attempts to achieve peace at the expense of Ukraine: "I will tell you that you cannot advance your interests at the expense of Ukraine. Every country, including China, Brazil, European and African countries, understands why all these practices, when they develop at the expense of weaker countries, should remain in the past".

The President of Ukraine called on the world community to unite against Russian aggression: "Russia is trying to revive a cruel colonial past, and countries like China and Brazil should recognize this, rather than trying to strengthen their own global influence through peace proposals that do not counter Russian aggression".

In conclusion, Zelensky emphasized the importance of the unity of the world community: "I ask for your support from all the nations of the world so that we do not divide the world. I ask you not to divide the world. Let's remain united nations, and this will bring us peace".

Let us recall, Zelensky disclosed Putin's plans for the winter at the UN.
