Ukraine, US, and Russia to Hold Talks

According to TSN.ua: Talks involving Ukraine, the United States, and Russia are scheduled for February 17-18, 2023, in Geneva. The Russian delegation will be expanded and will include figures such as Vladimir Medinsky, Mikhail Galuzin, and Igor Kostyukov. Medinsky will lead the Russian delegation in these negotiations, which are planned to address territorial issues. These talks are part of ongoing diplomatic efforts to address the conflict that began with Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine in February 2022.

The agenda for the Geneva discussions is expected to cover a broader range of topics than previous meetings. As noted by Kremlin press secretary Dmitry Peskov, the talks will encompass security and political solutions aimed at achieving a lasting peace. Participants aim to find compromise solutions that could influence the future course of events in the region.

Delegation Rosters

The Ukrainian delegation will include:

  • Rustem Umerov
  • Kyrylo Budanov
  • Andrii Gnatov
  • David Arakhamia
  • Sergiy Kyslytsya
  • Vadym Skibitskyi

These negotiations represent a significant stage in diplomatic efforts to stabilize the situation between the countries involved in the conflict. Vladimir Medinsky did not participate in previous talks in Abu Dhabi, making his presence at this Geneva meeting a potentially meaningful step toward a peaceful settlement.

The Geneva talks have the potential to influence the dynamics of the conflict in Ukraine, as the participation of key representatives from both sides could foster progress on crucial issues of security and territorial integrity. Given that previous meetings have yielded limited results, the outcome of these negotiations could prove decisive for the future trajectory of the situation in the region.
