According to ТСН: On the first day of 2026, the Russian army struck 'Feldman-EcoPark' near Kharkiv.

The RF army attacked the eco-park near Kharkiv

The occupiers attacked 'Feldman-EcoPark' on the first day of the new year.

As a result of the airstrike, a volunteer was injured, and the winter shelter for predators and the bird enclosure suffered damage. Lions were also injured.

“The predator winter shelter and the winter bird enclosure are completely destroyed. The lions are injured. Everything is ruined there. And once again, the enclosures for small animals have been destroyed,” said the founder of the establishment, Oleksandr Feldman.

In his opinion, there is a risk that most of the 'elite birds' in special aviaries, including parrots and pheasants that require a warm environment, have died.

What is known about the condition of the animals

After the airstrike, the lives of the injured lions are not in danger. Veterinarians will examine them shortly, reports the director Ivan Dostov.

The animals are frightened, but their condition is not critical. The number of deaths is currently unknown.

“Birds have died, but their number is currently unknown; we will count them. There are a lot of birds there—decorative chickens, pheasants, and guineafowl were in this section,” specified the park director.

Photos and videos of the destruction scale at Feldman EcoPark have been shown online

Photos and videos of the aftermath of the shelling of 'Feldman-EcoPark' have appeared on social networks and Telegram channels.

Journalists are publishing photos of the destruction, and the park administration has posted videos showing the extent of the damage.

The footage shows destroyed enclosures and infrastructure.

“Many birds have died; the exact number is being clarified. Also, lions have been injured; the condition of the tigers is unknown—they have hidden in partially destroyed premises. Specialists are expecting a new rifle with a sedative to put them to sleep and transfer them to another facility. The animal rescue operation is ongoing, and the extent of the damage is being clarified,” the video description reads.

Russians attack the eco-park near Kharkiv for the first time

'Feldman-EcoPark' has been targeted by Russian shelling before. Since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, the facility has repeatedly come under fire. During attempts to save the animals, five employees and a minor volunteer lost their lives. The eco-park has suffered significant damage.

Some animals were evacuated to Poltava, but in April 2022, the eco-park was almost completely destroyed due to constant bombing.

In 2023, the facility partially resumed operations and began returning evacuated animals.

In July 2024, the eco-park's territory was attacked by drones, injuring two employees. And in September 2025, the area again became a target for drones.

Currently, the eco-park is located about 20 kilometers from the combat zone, raising concerns among animal rights activists.

As the facility’s spokesperson noted, the animals evacuated at the beginning of the war had to be returned because the zoos hosting them did not have sufficient resources for long-term care.

'Feldman-EcoPark': history and key events

The regional landscape park was founded in 2013 with funds from a charity foundation established by Oleksandr Feldman. At the time of its opening, the park covered more than 140 hectares and was intended for the preservation of natural complexes and ecological education.

The main part of the park became a zoo, housing hundreds of species of animals, including rare species.

The infrastructure included areas for direct contact with animals and social rehabilitation of children with disabilities through hippotherapy.

With the onset of the full-scale invasion in February 2022, the eco-park found itself in a combat zone, leading to cruel treatment of animals and theft of feed.

After deoccupation in autumn 2022, the territory of the park was destroyed and mined. Eco-park employees began recovery efforts, and in 2023, its first location reopened to visitors.

The situation in 'Feldman-EcoPark' raises serious concerns as the facility has been repeatedly subjected to attacks by the occupiers. These events emphasize not only humanitarian but also ecological challenges faced by the region during the war. It is crucial that the animals and their welfare remain at the center of attention for both the community and international organizations involved in animal protection and environmental conservation.
