Fake Marriages for Draft Evaders: Uman Woman Charged in $5,400 Scheme.
Woman Accused of Running Illegal Border Operation for Military-Age Men
According to Novyny.live: A 42-year-old woman with a Class II disability from Uman has been charged with organizing the illegal transport of conscription-age men across Ukraine’s border. According to investigators, she entered into two separate marriages with military-liable individuals in 2022 and 2023. After each wedding, she crossed the state border with her new husband but returned to Ukraine on the same day.
For her role in the operation, the suspect allegedly received a total of 200,000 Ukrainian hryvnias (roughly $5,400). The charges fall under Article 332, Part 3 of Ukraine’s Criminal Code, which addresses the illegal transfer of persons across borders.

Such cases threaten national security and undermine the enforcement of military service obligations.
