Huliaipole holds on: the Russian army was unable to capture the city despite assaults.
The situation in Huliaipole and Stepnohirsk
According to ТСН: Part of the city of Huliaipole in the Zaporizhzhia region remains under the control of Russian occupiers. Although the enemy has significant numerical and technical superiority, they have so far been unable to capture the settlement.
According to information from Ukrainian military sources, the enemy is actively conducting assault operations, trying to establish a foothold in the city, using kamikaze drones and artillery, as well as launching airstrikes. Their goal is to destroy the positions of Ukrainian defenders and expel them from the city.
“In the past day, the enemy has stormed our positions in the city nearly twenty times, fierce battles are still raging in the streets, and several clashes are ongoing at this moment.”
However, part of Huliaipole remains under the control of Ukrainian forces. They continue to defend themselves, delivering counterstrikes and conducting operations against enemy assault groups, inflicting significant losses on them.
“Our units are in positions, conducting defensive operations, delivering counterstrikes, and carrying out search-strike actions to destroy enemy assault groups, inflicting substantial losses on the adversary. The enemy has already lost more than three hundred personnel and sixty units of equipment and weapons in Huliaipole today.”
The Defense Forces of the South also reported that in Stepnohirsk, the occupiers are trying to infiltrate along the main road leading to the village. Fighting continues here as well, but part of the settlement remains under the control of Ukrainian defenders.
“Statements by Putin and reports by Gerasimov regarding Huliaipole and Stepnohirsk remind us of the situation in Kupiansk, which they have 'captured' several times already. The haste of such 'blitzkriegs' is due to the upcoming meeting between the presidents of Ukraine and the USA, which is to take place soon.”
It should be noted that earlier the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine officially denied Russian claims of supposedly capturing Ukrainian cities — Huliaipole, Myrnohrad, and part of Kostiantynivka.
The situation in Huliaipole and Stepnohirsk remains tense. Ukrainian forces continue to do everything possible to defend the territory and destroy enemy assault groups. The noted activity of the adversary may indicate preparation for a new phase of military actions, requiring constant readiness from Ukrainian troops. The situation requires close attention, as each new day brings new challenges.
