Ukrainian Armed Forces Test New Systems Against Guided Bombs: Results Already on the Battlefield.
According to ТСН: The Armed Forces of Ukraine are actively working to reduce the enemy's air superiority, particularly by countering guided aerial bombs (GAB) and new strike drones. At a recent meeting on defense capabilities development led by Deputy Chief of the General Staff Brigadier General Oleksiy Shevchenko, optimistic data on strengthening Ukraine's air defense was presented.
Countering GABs and Reactive Drones
Russian attacks are constantly changing, but Ukrainian defenders are finding effective responses. The General Staff officially confirmed that new weapon systems designed to counter GABs are currently undergoing testing. The results are already noticeable on the battlefield: in three autumn months, the anti-aircraft missile troops of the Air Force have destroyed about 100 enemy aerial bombs, which was previously considered a very challenging task.
Moreover, the enemy has begun using new high-speed drones. A launch of 138 reactive drones of the 'Geran' type has been recorded. Despite their speed, the Ukrainian air defense has successfully intercepted and destroyed most of them.
Betting on Robotics and Innovations
Modern wars require the active use of unmanned systems. The meeting discussed the latest types of armaments, including:
strike UAVs;
interceptor drones to combat the enemy's reconnaissance wings;
ground robotic complexes and combat modules.
Particular attention was paid to electronic warfare (EW) means, which are critical for position protection.
Summarizing the meeting, Brigadier General Oleksiy Shevchenko emphasized the importance of implementing new technologies.
‘Implementation and scaling of innovations are effective when the capabilities of our troops are also enhanced,’ emphasized the Deputy Chief of Staff.
It is worth noting that Russia continues its active efforts to build up its arsenal. GUR has reported that the Russian side is actively producing GABs.
In the face of today's military challenges, Ukraine is constantly improving its defense capabilities. Countering new threats such as strike drones and modern aerial bombs is a key aspect in ensuring the stability and security of the country. Implementing innovative technologies can significantly change the course of hostilities and enhance defense capabilities.
