Zoomers Work While Watching Series: Why 84% of Young Employees Do It.
Generation Z and Video During Work
According to inkorr.com: Members of Generation Z, also known as zoomers, actively resist the return to traditional office work. They are used to watching series or movies during the workday while working from home. According to a survey conducted by Tubi, about 84% of young workers use video as background noise when completing their tasks.
A study conducted among 2502 adult video viewers showed that 84% of them watch series or movies while working. 53% sometimes postpone work tasks to finish watching an episode, and nearly half admitted to lying about their activities during work hours.
Despite concerns from some companies about the productivity of zoomers, HR experts advise employers not to overstate this situation. Tubi analysts emphasize that the younger generation has not lost the desire to work, but has simply integrated this habit into their usual life rhythm.
In Ukraine, members of Generation Z also show a tendency to work with video in the background, watching movies and series during the workday. This approach may spark discussions about productivity, but for many zoomers, it has become an absolutely normal and habitual element of the work process.
This trend opens new horizons for employers who need to adapt their human resource management strategies to meet the needs of young workers. Interacting with Generation Z can significantly change the traditional approach to organizing work, introducing elements of flexibility into the work process, which, in turn, can positively impact the atmosphere within the team.
