Ukraine does not plan to conduct demobilization of soldiers who have been serving since the beginning of the invasion. There are no legislative initiatives on this topic so far. In September, many servicemen will cross the 30-month service mark, many of them having spent this Time on the front lines.

The Ministry of Defense and the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine were supposed to prepare a document with clear demobilization deadlines by October or the end of 2024. However, this has not happened yet. A representative of the Ukrainian authorities stated that there are no draft documents yet.

Representatives of the Ministry of Defense and the General Staff told deputies that they continue to monitor the dynamics of mobilization to understand whether it will be possible to form sufficient reserves. Therefore, the demobilization law will not appear before the end of the year. The shortage of soldiers in the army turned out to be greater than previously reported, so the demobilization law should not be expected, some members of the defense committee note.

In the main communication department of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, they said that they would be able to comment on demobilization issues when the relevant draft law is ready.

Soldiers who have been on the front lines for 2.5 years have lost hope for demobilization. Some of them feel complete despair.
