Trump Administration Acknowledges Tariff Failure: Americans Will Pay More.

Trump Administration Acknowledges Impact of Tariffs on Americans
After Walmart announced price increases due to tariffs, the Trump administration acknowledged that it affects everyone. Previously, the president tried to shift the blame to foreign countries, but now his economic team admits that it leads to rising prices for Americans. Trump's sweeping global tariffs could cost the average household over $2300 a year, according to data from the Yale Budget Lab.
While inflation remains low for now, experts fear that price hikes due to tariffs could occur. Following Walmart's announcement of price increases, Trump urged the company to 'eat' the tariffs, but reports from the Secretary of the Treasury suggest otherwise. The Secretary acknowledged that consumers will still have to pay for the tariffs, even if some companies decided to absorb part of the costs.
The end of the terms of some tariff agreements is gradually approaching, which could lead to further tensions and price increases. If new agreements are not reached, the situation could worsen in the coming months.
