Odesa: in 4 days, energy workers restored electricity to almost 600 thousand homes.
According to ТСН: Over the past four days, energy workers have managed to restore electricity supply to 583.7 thousand homes in the Odesa region. All critical infrastructure is also fully powered.
Situation with power supply
The authorities acknowledge that the damage to the energy system in Odesa is significant, making it impossible to connect all consumers at once.
„Currently, 32.3 thousand consumers are temporarily without power. DTEK Odesa Electric Networks specialists are working around the clock to restore electricity to all homes as soon as possible,” emphasized Kiper.
The head of the OVA also urged residents of the city to gradually turn on appliances after the electricity is restored and, if possible, limit the use of energy-intensive equipment.
„Thank you to all Odesites for your patience and endurance, and to energy workers for their professionalism!,” noted the head of the OVA.
The situation with electricity, heating, and water in Odesa has been discussed earlier following attacks from the Russian Federation.
Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko reported that as of December 16:
Electricity supply has been restored for over 180 thousand consumers, specialists continue to work;
Heat supply is already ensured in all districts of the city, the phased launch of individual boilers is ongoing;
Centralized water supply in the city has been fully restored;
Supply of drinking and technical water is carried out in response to requests from residents. Resilience points and field kitchens are working on-site,” noted the Prime Minister.
„The damage to the energy system is significant, so restoring the networks of the entire city requires time. Thank you to the energy workers, public services, rescuers, and everyone who is working to return light and heat to people's homes as soon as possible,” concluded Svyrydenko.
Restoration of electricity supply in Odesa is an important step after numerous attacks from the Russian Federation. Local authorities are making maximum efforts to restore utility services, which is critically important for the comfortable life of residents. There is still much work ahead, but changes are already being felt.
