New earthquake in Japan: tsunami warning issued.
According to ТСН: Another earthquake has struck Japan, which the U.S. Geological Survey rated at 6.7. The event occurred at a depth of 44 kilometers.
The Japan Meteorological Agency issued a warning about the possibility of a tsunami. Given the magnitude of the earthquake, experts predict waves up to 1 meter high.
Consequences of the earthquake
This tremor occurred after a previous earthquake that shook the country. At the port of Kuji, in Iwate Prefecture, waves up to 70 centimeters high were recorded, leading to damage to oyster farming equipment.
About 800 homes were left without electricity, and the Shinkansen bullet trains along with several local lines suspended their operations.
Approximately 480 residents took refuge at the Hachinohe Air Base, and 18 military helicopters were deployed to assess the damage.
