Russia deported 50 Ukrainians from Sumy region: details of the assault and evacuation

According to ТСН: Russian troops launched an unexpected assault on the border village of Hrabovske in the Sumy region, capturing and deporting about 50 local residents to Russia. Most of them are elderly individuals who chose not to evacuate.

Viktor Trehubov, head of the communication department of the Joint Forces Group, recounted these events during a live broadcast of Morning LIVE. He noted that Russian infantry entered Hrabovske on the evening of December 20. It was a 'sudden move' by small groups, allowing the enemy to quickly take control of the village.

Most residents of Hrabovske were evacuated by Ukrainian forces in advance, but there were also those who signed a refusal to leave. Trehubov explained that due to the small size of the village, the capture happened very quickly. 'It took, according to our estimates, a few hours. They first confined them in the premises of the local church, and then took them directly to the territory of the Russian Federation,' he noted.

He also urged against rushing to conclusions regarding the political views of the deported individuals. It is currently difficult to determine who among the 50 became a victim of coercion and who may have had other reasons. A final assessment of the events and circumstances of the deportation should be provided by law enforcement after conducting a detailed investigation.

Recall that on the night of December 20, Russian troops entered the territory of the border village of Hrabovske and evacuated 50 civilians from there. At that time, hostilities were taking place in the region.

Due to the escalation of the security situation at the border in the Krasnopillia community of the Sumy region, the demand for evacuation has increased. Villagers are increasingly seeking assistance from local authorities to leave the danger zone and ensure the safety of their families.
