Ukraine's "Health Screening 40+" Initiative

According to TSN.ua: A new national program offering free medical check-ups for citizens aged 40 and over will launch in Ukraine on January 1, 2026. This initiative, known as "Health Screening 40+", is designed to screen for cardiovascular diseases, diabetes, and assess mental health status. The first invitations for participation will be sent out on January 31, 2026. This program is part of a broader effort to modernize preventive healthcare in the country.

The state will allocate 2,000 Ukrainian hryvnias (UAH) to cover the cost of the screening services for each participant. This financial incentive aims to encourage more people to undergo preventive examinations and improve the overall health of the population.

Government representative Yuliia Svyrydenko noted that the basic set of examinations will be quick and can be completed in one location.

More than 640 medical institutions across the country are participating in the program, ensuring wide accessibility for all interested citizens. Preliminary information about the program in the "Diia" portal has already been viewed by over one million Ukrainians, indicating significant public interest. The "Health Screening 40+" program aims not only to detect diseases early but also to raise public awareness about the importance of regular medical check-ups.

State Efforts to Improve Healthcare Services

The launch of the "Health Screening 40+" program underscores the government's commitment to enhancing healthcare services, particularly for individuals over 40 who face a higher risk of developing serious illnesses. The involvement of over 640 medical facilities will make these services accessible to a broad range of citizens, which is expected to have a positive impact on the nation's overall public health.
