Drones attacked the Kirishi Refinery in Russia: consequences for the energy sector.
According to inkorr.com: On the night of September 14, drones attacked the Kirishi oil refinery located in the Leningrad region of Russia. This was reported by the portal 'Gleam', citing the resource Exilenova+.
Attack on the Kirishi Refinery
This incident occurred during a restless night for Russian energy infrastructure facilities. The Kirishi refinery, with a capacity of over 20 million tons of oil per year, is among the top ten largest oil refineries in the country.
Similar incidents have previously occurred in Russia.
Situation with drones
In particular, on the night of August 30, oil refineries in Krasnodar and Sizran were attacked. The Krasnodar refinery, the oldest among Russian oil refineries, is a subsidiary of 'Afip Refinery LLC' and also had to suspend operations after the attack.
Drones attacks on Russian oil refineries are becoming more frequent. This may lead to increased security measures at such facilities and escalation of the situation in the country's energy sector.
