Defended the Motherland as part of the Third Assault. Let's remember Andrii Diduk.
Every day at 9 a.m., Ukrainians honor the memory of all those whose lives were taken by the Russian-Ukrainian war. Today, we remember Andrii Diduk.
On November 16, in Shepetivka, they said farewell to Andrii Valeriyovych Diduk, an operator in the radio electronic warfare unit against unmanned aerial vehicles of the 1st Assault Battalion, a brave warrior with a compassionate heart who fought for the right to life and freedom of Ukraine at the cost of his own life. This was reported by the Shepetivka City Council.
Andrii Valeriyovych Diduk was born on November 25, 2003, in Shepetivka. He was the younger son in the family, growing up like any other curious, sometimes mischievous boy. Until ninth grade, he studied at the local general education school No. 1 and continued his education at the Educational and Pedagogical Complex School-Gymnasium No. 5. He received his secondary specialized education at the Shepetivka Agricultural Technical School of Accounting.
Joining the military actions
The war entered Andrii's short life while he was still a student. From the first days of the full-scale invasion, the young man, without hesitation, joined the ranks of self-defense.
He approached his duties very seriously and responsibly – manning checkpoints and patrolling the streets. This, perhaps, motivated Andrii to choose the challenging path of a warrior-defender. Despite his young age, he made the decision to defend his land with a weapon in hand.
Dreaming of becoming a soldier
The young man diligently prepared to join the ranks of the Third Separate Air Assault Brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. In August 2023, his dream came true – he passed the selection and signed a contract.
Andrii was sent for training at the 169th Training Center named after Prince Yaroslav the Wise in the village of Desna, Chernihiv Oblast. The soldiers who were side by side with Andrii at the front said: 'A brave guy, a fun-loving, loyal friend, and comrade'. Military honor and dignity were paramount to him; he always called things by their names and never deceived.
Memory of Andrii
Andrii loved life. Physically fit and broad-shouldered, he always tried to be a leader, strong, and goal-oriented. In the hearts of his classmates and friends live good, bright, warm memories of him, as he never tarnished his record with a bad or unworthy deed. He had a kind, gentle soul, full of love and compassion for everyone. He often communicated with his older brother Artem and loved his niece Sofiika.
Andrii planned a vacation on November 28 and was looking forward to reuniting with family and friends. He last wrote to his parents, Valentyna Volodymyrivna and Valerii Mykolaiovych, on the evening of November 11: 'Everything is fine.' Andrii was already returning from a mission when an enemy drone cut short his earthly journey.

The 'Glavkom' joins in a moment of silence. We honor the memory of all Ukrainians who died in the struggle for the Motherland. We remember those killed by Russian occupiers, light candles of remembrance, and bow our heads in sorrow during a nationwide moment of silence, honoring the bright memory of the citizens of Ukraine who gave their lives for the freedom and independence of the state: all military personnel, civilians, and children, all who died in the struggle against Russian occupiers and as a result of enemy forces attacking Ukrainian cities and villages.
