Budanov on Russian Drones in Europe: Three Real Targets of Attacks.
According to inkorr.com: Russia is trying to achieve three goals using its drones in European countries. Among them, there is likely a psychological goal aimed at domestic use. This was explained by the head of the Main Intelligence Directorate (HUR) of the Ministry of Defense Kyrylo Budanov in an interview with Il Foglio.
“Putin is preparing Russians, he wants to destroy in their minds the notion that Europe is worth something, that Europe is strong,” Budanov noted.
Budanov also emphasized that the drones in the sky over European countries have a practical goal related to local residents. “The Russians are testing your reaction, your decision-making ability, your readiness to use force. Meanwhile, they are conducting reconnaissance, identifying your systems, understanding how they work and where they are located,” added the head of HUR.
Negative Consequences of Drone Sightings at European Airports
Recently, the sighting of a mysterious drone in the airspace of Palma de Mallorca Airport (Spain) caused chaos for thousands of passengers, as flights were completely suspended for safety reasons. Munich Airport was also temporarily closed due to reports of possible drones near the airfield, although the information about their presence was not confirmed. The tabloid Bild also reported on unknown drones over testing grounds in Germany. German Chancellor Friedrich Merz believes that Russia may be involved in these incursions into EU airspace.
The movement of Russian drones in European countries raises concerns not only among the military but also among ordinary citizens. This could have serious implications for security and stability in the region.
Thus, the activation of Russian drones in the skies of Europe indicates wider strategic intentions of the Kremlin. It is not only military testing but also an attempt to influence the thoughts of people in Ukraine and Europe, showing that the Russian presence remains a threat. The situation requires vigilance from EU countries and collective action to ensure the security of airspace.
