Key Negotiations between Ukraine and the USA Start in Florida: What the Parties Agreed Upon.
According to ТСН: A meeting of Ukrainian and American delegations has started in Florida. The Ukrainian team is led by NSDC Secretary Rustem Umerov, while the USA is represented by Secretary of State Marco Rubio, special envoy of President Donald Trump Steve Witkoff, and presidential advisor Jared Kushner.
The negotiations are dedicated to discussing a plan to end Russian aggression against Ukraine.
“It is not just about ending the war, which will preserve Ukraine's sovereignty and independence. It is about creating a mechanism for the future that will guarantee that such a war does not happen again. Ukraine must be able to ensure prosperity for all its people. The country has enormous economic potential and development prospects. However, this cannot happen during a war, as we have now. The mere fact of ending the war will not automatically ensure this. We are already halfway toward fully guaranteeing Ukrainian sovereignty and independence. Significant progress has been made today. Thank you for coming,” Rubio said.
Umerov, in turn, thanked the American people and President Trump for peace initiatives, noting that significant progress had been made during the 10 months of negotiations.
“We are now discussing the future of Ukraine—security, prosperity, and reconstruction. We expect a productive meeting,” he stated.
It is also worth noting that the updated composition of the Ukrainian delegation for negotiations with the USA in Florida has been approved earlier.
Moreover, the administration of President Donald Trump plans to resolve all territorial disagreements and security guarantees by November 30, so that a finalized plan can be presented to Kremlin leader Putin on December 2.
This meeting underscores the significance of international support for Ukraine in its struggle for sovereignty. The diplomatic efforts of both countries aim to create long-term security mechanisms that can prevent the recurrence of conflict. Further negotiations will be key to determining the future of the region in the coming months.
