Military Registration Obligations for Citizens

According to Novyny.live: All males aged 17 to 60 who have left occupied territories are now required to register for military service in Ukraine. This mandate applies broadly, except for individuals previously removed from the registry due to medical conditions. Internally displaced persons must also register at Territorial Recruitment Centers (TRCs) based on their new, actual place of residence.

Military registration is compulsory for every man within this age bracket, and those fleeing occupied areas are not exempt from this duty. To complete the process, citizens can use the 'Reserve+' application, which enables data updates and generates an official extract that serves as a valid military registration document. Paper certificates are no longer issued.

“Download the 'Reserve+' app. Update your information there. Generate the extract, and that will be your military registration document. Paper tickets are no longer issued, only electronic forms,” stated Yevhen Korniychuk.

Failure to register within the specified timeframe may result in the individual being placed on a wanted list by the TRC. However, if a person already has a reservation (booking) from military service, it will not be canceled even if they have not yet registered. This clarification is crucial for those navigating complex military obligations.

Adapting to New Regulations

The updated rules for military registration of internally displaced persons and citizens from occupied territories are part of Ukraine's broader efforts to ensure the manning of the Armed Forces during martial law. The shift to electronic registration via the 'Reserve+' app also reflects a push to modernize processes and simplify compliance for citizens. These changes are likely to influence future mobilization and military personnel selection.
