Why is support for Ukraine declining in the world? Historian reproached refugees for not having given up the Russian language.
Professor of Lviv Catholic University, historian Yaroslav Hrytsak expressed his opinion on the issue of support for Ukraine in the USA and Poland. He believes this has become a matter of political struggle, rather than just a question of support.
An important detail I must note regarding fatigue in Poland. Poles are tired of immigration. They believe that such a large number of Ukrainians who have moved are taking their jobs and social security. Moreover, Poles claim that Ukrainians, especially Russian-speaking ones, are simply incomprehensible to them in terms of mentality. They help us, but continue to communicate in the Russian language.
Hrytsak also noted that around the world, countries are closing up to immigration for security reasons. This causes a rise in populism, as seen in Poland with the 'Confederation' and in the USA with the Republicans and Trump.
The professor emphasized that the main political parties in both countries remain pro-Russian, but the strength of this position may change. He urged not to worry ahead of Time and not to fear such political struggles.
It should be noted that the USA has extended the status of 'temporary protected persons' for Ukrainian citizens until October 19, 2026. The number of Ukrainians with this status in Germany has significantly decreased, but Germany remains a leader in accepting beneficiaries of temporary protection from Ukraine among EU countries.
Ukraine's Minister of National Unity, Oleksii Chernyshov, stated that Ukraine is ready to offer compatriots abroad jobs at a defense enterprise with a reservation against potential mobilization.
