Drone Attack Targets Dnipro
According to TSN.ua: A drone attack struck the city of Dnipro on January 22, 2023, injuring six civilians. Among the wounded was a 14-year-old girl. Two of the victims, a 64-year-old woman and an 88-year-old man, required hospitalization. The assault also caused extensive structural damage, completely destroying a 16-story residential building.
Emergency services successfully rescued 16 people from the upper floors of the damaged building. Fires broke out in two apartments, covering a combined area of 200 square meters. More than 50 rescue workers from Ukraine's State Emergency Service, supported by 17 pieces of equipment, were deployed to the scene to manage the aftermath.
The Critical Need for Emergency Preparedness
Dnipro Mayor Boris Filatov noted that many residents who might otherwise have been hurt were at work when the strike occurred. This incident underscores the vital importance of public readiness for emergencies and the necessity of rapid response from rescue services. Drone warfare has become a persistent threat in the region, making civilian safety protocols more crucial than ever.
