Bonus for Ukraine's Energy Sector Workers

According to TSN.ua: President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced in his evening address that a bonus of 20,000 hryvnias will be paid to energy and critical infrastructure restoration workers for their work over a three-month period. This payment covers January, February, and March of 2023. This initiative is part of broader efforts to support essential services during a period of immense national challenge.

The decision was made with the involvement of President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal, and Deputy Prime Minister Yuliia Svyrydenko. The program includes employees in the following sectors:

  • The fuel and energy complex;
  • Housing and communal services;
  • Ukrzaliznytsia (Ukrainian Railways).

Funds will be paid automatically to workers' bank accounts. President Zelenskyy emphasized that every worker involved in emergency restoration efforts will receive the 20,000 hryvnia supplement. Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal, in turn, thanked energy workers, heating specialists, gas workers, utility workers, and railway employees for their labor, which is crucial for saving critical infrastructure and strengthening Ukraine's home front.

Payment Organization and Digital Services

A unified list of enterprises involved in restoration work will be created to organize the payments. Companies will be able to submit electronic lists of brigade workers through online applications. Each worker will receive a notification of their eligibility for the payment via the 'Diia' app or by SMS. The transfer of funds will occur automatically to the employees' existing bank accounts.

This decision is part of state support for workers engaged in restoring Ukraine's critical infrastructure. Utilizing digital services to manage the payments will significantly simplify the process for recipients, which may help boost morale and work efficiency. As critical infrastructure is fundamental to the country's stable functioning, this support represents a vital step in ensuring its recovery and development.
