Searches at Yermak's
It should be recalled that searches were carried out at Andriy Yermak’s home in the morning. People's Deputy Yaroslav Zheleznyak was the first to report this, noting that investigative actions are being conducted by NABU and SAP in the government quarter. The National Anti-Corruption Bureau confirmed the information about the searches, stating that they are sanctioned and conducted within the framework of the investigation.
Andriy Yermak also confirmed that NABU detectives and SAP prosecutors are conducting procedural actions at his home.
The European Union reacted to the searches. The main spokesperson for the European Commission, Paola Pinho, stated that the EU "will be watching very closely" the situation surrounding NABU's actions towards the head of the Office. They emphasized the importance of transparency and effectiveness of anti-corruption processes in Ukraine.
The Minister of National Defense of Poland, Wladyslaw Kosiniak-Kamysz, also expressed his position, assuring that Warsaw's strategy to support Ukraine remains unchanged, but he stressed the need for ensuring a transparent anti-corruption policy.
Earlier, it was reported that on November 20, during a closed meeting between President Volodymyr Zelensky and the 'Servant of the People' faction, the deputies raised the issue of Yermak's possible dismissal.
The resignation of Andriy Yermak and the searches at his residence have attracted significant attention from society and the international community. These events occur against the backdrop of a strengthening of anti-corruption measures in Ukraine, which is an important step towards strengthening trust in public institutions. The reboot of the Presidential Office could mark a new stage in the country's political life, and it would be advisable to monitor the President's further actions and the new candidates for the position.
