General Kryvonos explained why soldiers are leaving their units voluntarily.
According to the general of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Serhiy Kryvonos, the reason for soldiers leaving their units voluntarily is the unsatisfactory state policy that has been ongoing for ten years. In his interview with NV, he noted that the problem arises from the lack of systematic training of the population for the defense of the country.
The general also pointed out that this issue does not concern only the military but is the result of the actions of the political leadership of the country. The lack of readiness of people for war in adulthood creates a fear of serving in the army.
Serhiy Kryvonos added that in 2019 there was a national-patriotic education program for the population that aimed to prepare for the defense of the country and counteract Russian propaganda. However, due to the absence of a strong national-patriotic education system over the past 30 years, a situation has arisen where values in society are not being cultivated, and a generation of consumers appears who believe they owe nothing, while the government owes them.
DBR communications advisor Tetiana Sapyian reported that servicemen who return to service by January 1, 2025, will be reinstated with all social guarantees.
