Hourly electricity blackout schedules in Ukraine

According to TSN.ua: On January 15, 2023, hourly electricity blackout schedules were introduced in Ukraine due to the consequences of Russian massive missile and drone attacks on energy facilities. These electricity supply restrictions have become necessary to stabilize the country's energy system in the face of serious damages caused by military actions.

Power outages in Kyiv and the Kyiv region on January 15 will be supplemented. This means that residents of the capital and adjacent areas must be prepared for changes in schedules that may adapt depending on the situation in the energy system.

The situation in the regions

In the Odesa region, significant damage to the energy system is currently observed, so hourly schedules are not in effect in this region. This is due to the severe consequences of attacks that complicated the restoration of normal electricity supply.

In the Zaporizhia region, the electricity blackout schedule for January 15 looks as follows:

  • 09:00 — 14:00
  • 18:00 — 23:00
  • and other periods.

This will help reduce the load on the energy system during peak consumption hours.

The electricity blackout schedule in the Cherkasy region for the same day includes:

  • 00:00 — 02:00
  • 04:00 — 07:00
  • 10:00 — 14:00
  • 16:00 — 20:00
  • 22:00 — 24:00

These measures are aimed at ensuring more even electricity consumption and reducing risks for energy infrastructure.

In the conditions of war and constant threats, it is important to adhere to the established blackout schedules, as this contributes not only to reducing electricity consumption but also to the stability of the energy system as a whole. Residents of all regions are urged to understand these measures and follow the recommendations of local energy companies.

The introduction of hourly electricity blackouts in Ukraine is a response to the serious challenges faced by the country’s energy infrastructure in wartime. These measures not only help reduce the load on the electrical grid but also are an important part of the plan to restore the stability of electricity supply. In the face of constant threats from military actions, adapting blackout schedules is crucial for ensuring safety and conserving resources in the country.
