A Pedophile Arrested in Odesa: He Assaulted His Niece for a Long Time.
According to ТСН: Law enforcement officers arrested a 41-year-old resident of Odesa, suspected of serious crimes related to sexual violence against a minor child that lasted for several years.
According to the investigation, the man repeatedly committed unlawful sexual acts against his niece, inviting her to his home. The first incident occurred when the girl was seven years old, and the last when she turned eleven. The offender recorded the crimes on video.
During a sanctioned search of his apartment, law enforcement officers seized video files that, according to the expert conclusion, contain child pornography.
Preventive Measure and Charges
The investigators detained the suspect in a procedural manner and informed him of suspicion under several articles of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, in particular:
rape and sexual violence (parts 2, 4 of article 152; part 3 of article 153);
creation and storage of child pornography (parts 4, 5 of article 301 and part 1 of article 301-1).
At the request of the investigators, the court selected a preventive measure for the suspect in the form of detention without the right to bail. Given the totality of charges, the man faces up to 15 years in prison. The operation was conducted by officers of the Cyber Police of the Odesa region in cooperation with police officers from the Odesa District Police Department under the supervision of the Peresyp District Prosecutor's Office of Odesa.
Furthermore, the Transcarpathian Appellate Court upheld the sentence against three residents of the village of Verkhnya Vorota, who were sentenced to six years in prison for raping a minor. Their appeals were not upheld, so all three remain in custody.
It has also been reported that a criminal proceeding has been initiated in Lviv for possible cruelty to animals that resulted in the death of two dogs.
These cases highlight the seriousness of the problem of violence against children and cruelty to animals in Ukraine. Authorities are actively investigating such crimes, trying to ensure the safety and protection of the most vulnerable groups of the population. Society must be aware of these issues and support law enforcement efforts in combating crime.
