Attack from Iran

In a separate incident, Iran also launched a ballistic missile toward Turkey, which was intercepted and destroyed by air defense systems. However, debris from the missile fell in Turkey's Hatay province, highlighting the risks posed by such attacks.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan issued a firm condemnation of the drone attacks originating from the territory of the Islamic Republic of Iran. The ministry's statement reads:

“We strongly condemn these drone attacks carried out from the territory of the Islamic Republic of Iran, which resulted in damage to the airport building and injuries to two civilians.”

This incident underscores the rising regional tensions and the potential dangers of military conflicts that can draw in nations beyond traditional adversaries. The Nakhchivan region is an Azerbaijani exclave bordering Iran, Turkey, and Armenia, making it a sensitive geopolitical area. Azerbaijan's response indicates the possibility of new diplomatic or military measures in reaction to aggression from Iran. Monitoring the situation's development is crucial, as further escalation could have serious implications for regional stability.
