Iran's National Security Secretary and Basij Commander Killed in Israeli Strikes.
High-Profile Officials Eliminated Inside Iran
According to TSN.ua: Israel has taken out Ali Larijani, the secretary of Iran's Supreme National Security Council, in an airstrike that occurred last night on Iranian soil. In a separate attack, Gholamreza Soleimani, the commander of the paramilitary Basij force, was also killed.
Larijani was among the earliest members of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps. His career included involvement in nuclear negotiations, leadership of state-run television, and a role in shaping domestic security policy—including the suppression of protests.
“Larijani and the Basij commander were eliminated in a single night,” said Israel Katz, a prominent Israeli political figure.
Regional Political Landscape
These developments come amid heightened political tensions across the region. Notably, during the missile strike, Iran's new leader, Mojtaba Khamenei, survived the attack, adding further gravity to the unfolding events inside and around Iran.
The elimination of such senior officials as Larijani and Soleimani may signal an escalation in Israeli military operations in the region and a deepening of the conflict between Israel and Iran. These actions could have serious repercussions for Iran's domestic politics and overall regional security. Key questions remain about potential Iranian retaliation and the international community's response to this surge in violence.
